New Orleans, LA

This weekend we decided to get out of dodge for a couple of days and take a mini vacation/field trip to New Orleans. Clark and I have been several times before, but it's been several years, and we also wanted to take the kids now that they are older. It was nice just to get away, walk the cobblestone streets and eat the ever-so-famous cajun food and beignets (pronouced 'ben-yay' for those who are not familiar with this famous donut-style puff pastry smothered in confectioner's sugar). I also think I walked enough to cover any excecise for the year!

Let me give you a little heads up to what to expect in the images and slideshow: All of us are in our prime, for sure! The kids and I were totally being goofballs and we told Dad (a.k.a. Clark) to make his own funny face--you'll notice his version. You'll also see his reaction to the sour lemonade he was drinking. Joseph held my camera with one hand to take our picture...notice whose face fills up the screen the most! We sat on the shore of the Mighty Mississippi listening to jazz play in the background--the night lights were beautiful. You'll also see what was left of our beignet plate...crumbs. : ) And finally, we toured the Aquarium. If you haven't had a chance to visit, make plans when you can as we only touched the surface of the things to do in the small amount of time we were there!
