Tip #4

*Your Prep Area*

Where will you be getting dressed? I know you think this is not a big deal, but it really is. You want a nice large room with lots of light---the more natural light the better. It’s this natural light that will produce a softer, natural image and it’s also great applying your makeup by rather than the typical harsh, fluorescent bulbs. You also want a larger room, if possible. Think about it: the room has to accommodate the bride, mother of the bride, mother of the groom, grandmothers if they’re there, the bridesmaids, your make-up artist and/or hairstylist and other friends that may hang out in there while you dress. Another thought: where you get dressed doesn't have to be at the same location as the ceremony. Consider another place to get dressed if your venue doesn't have what you're needing.

This is one of my favorite (and award winning) preparation pictures. This was taken in one of the rooms of the Grand Marriott Hotel in Point Clear, AL.

Great tip! Having a room with natural light is really important, and certainly makes for the best photos.
