Friday Ramblings

*Tonight my family is going to the Outback America Retreat. Please make sure you check this site out. It's a weekend camping retreat for husbands and wives and/or a parent and teenager. It's a weekend full of fun and games, lots of food, listening to great speakers and dramas and praise and worship. Clark and I went a few years ago and Clark and Joseph attended last October. We're all not staying for the weekend, but Clark is actually speaking tonight, so we're going along for the evening for the fun, food and fellowship! ; )

*Tomorrow Clark and I have a wedding in Montgomery. I've spoken to Robyn a couple of times by phone and I look forward to meeting her and photographing her wedding!

*I know I should have a slideshow or wedding images to post today, but the space on my server is full. Therefore, I'm unable to upload anything else right now. I promise I'm working on it, so please bear with me....I have lots to post!! : )

*I'm also in the process of changing my satellite internet service providers. We live too far back in the woods to have cable, so my internet service is via a big satellite in my back yard! Hopefully the new service and satellite will be installed within the next week, so I may be out of touch because of that for a few days, but I'll let you know and keep you posted.

*As soon as all is well, I'll have some fabulous images from Amber and Jeremy's wedding to show you!

*This may not impress some of you, but I'm happy to report I'm the proud new owner of my own shopping cart! ; ) I've always relyed on and used an online company to host my proofing images. Well...no more of that! I am now hosting my own gallery of images and don't have to rely on a 'middle-man' any longer. It's so liberating! : ) The new address is www.samanthaaldayphotography.com/photocart, but you can always find the link directly from my website. For those of you whose images are hosted on collages.net, don't worry. There is no change at all with the current hosted events. It will be all my new events that will posted to the new gallery.

*Also, for those of you who have events posted on collages, your events have be re-released or extended so you can order prints and enlargements for the holidays!

*According to the clustrmap on the right sideboard, I've received more than 10,000 visitors to my blog since last October! I'm pretty stoked about that! Thanks ya'll!

I think that covers it for now!

The weather is beautiful! We've enjoyed the rain earlier in the week and now the temperature is perfect and the sun is shining! Enjoy and 'til next time! ; )

Terra and Justin

My busy wedding season has once again begun and it couldn't have kicked off any better than with Terra and Justin's wedding. This couple booked me way back in the early Spring of this year and whereas it's usually the bride that takes care of all the "business", Justin is actually the one I've spoken to and corresponded with the most. I knew right away that Terra was marrying a good man! : ) Also, because of physical bounderies, I rarely meet my couples until the wedding day, but let me tell you how Terra and I met! I had a regular check-up scheduled with a new doctor. I got to the office, signed in, sat in the waiting room as per usual and all was good. When the nurse called me back, we heard snickering and whispering from the receptionist's desk. Needless to say, the nurse and I were kinda confused! As we turned back to to see what was going on, one of the girls, in a very low whisper, said "You're my photographer for my wedding." Terra recognized my name when the nurse called me back! I still chuckle when I think about that!

Now, back to the wedding day. It was so perfect! I can honestly say I was extremely blessed to be apart of this day with them and their families. A few words to describe them: gentle, soft spoken, emotional, full of love for each other and for the Lord. Our Sunday School lesson the day after the wedding was on gentleness and humility and how fitting I thought that these families were all just that. Their love for each other and for Christ really radiated and I was genuinely blessed and grateful to have been able to witness it. I actually shared in the Sunday School class that it's refreshing and rejuvenating to be around, but also a reminder of how loud and boisterous I can also be! : ) Thank you Terra and Justin and to each of your families for your sweet spirits. God bless!

Enjoy the slideshow!

Fran and David

What an amazing couple I had the opportunity to meet and to photograph! Fran and David both currently live in NY, but Rosemary Beach has always been a special vacation spot for Fran since she was a little girl. It was the perfect location for their intimate wedding and reception. They were both so easy to photograph and just to be around. Their small guest list of around 50 included family and friends from all over the states and literally everyone was so pleasant to visit! There were sooooo many great images from the day, I wanted to post them all. I did manage to narrow them down to a few here, but I do admit the slideshow is quite long. : ) Enjoy!!

Details! Details! Details! Paula Fitzgibbon, Fran and David's Wedding Coordinator, did an amazing job working out all the details (send me a note and I can give you her #) and Emerald Coast Catering brought it all together!
Jimmy Choo's AND Badgley Mischka's!

Fran was so photogenic...
...and tons of fun!
I love this impromtu moment with Fran and her Grandmother.

Congratulations Ashley!

We've literally watched Ashley grow from a young, tom-boyish girl (who could outplay the boys anyday of the week), to a beautiful, dress-wearing young lady. Good luck to you as you begin your college career and the life as a grown-up. ; )
