A Mother Daughter Weekend

This weekend Shelby and I went to a You and Your Girl Mother Daughter Retreat. What fun this was! It was a well needed time away for just the two of us to really just hang out, but also listen to Vicki Courtney (author of Your Girl and Your Boy and founder of Virtuous Reality Ministries ) and Everlife (a super cool girl band). For all you moms of tweens or teens, I highly recommend you get away and spend some quality time with her or try to attend one of these awesome retreats--you won't regret it!
Check out Vicki's site for her upcoming events for all ages!
Here are a few fun pictures of our weekend!

I've not been in one of these photo booths since I was a teenager!

Check out those shoes Shelby tried on!

Dabsey and Dan's Slideshow!

This was a neat experience for us. I actually met Dabsey a couple of years ago when I photographed her brother's wedding. It was a fun reunion getting to see Terri and David again and especially their newest little addition!
Hope ya'll enjoy the slideshow guys!! Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of such a sweet ceremony and a fun, relaxed evening!

The whole gang!

Dabsey with her parents, children and David and Terri and new baby!

Dabsey and Dan

A sneak peak for Dabsey and Dan. They had such a relaxed wedding. I'm telling you, this couple was so pleasant to be around-they really made my job easy. I'll have more pictures to share later, but just wanted to give them a 'taste' of what to look forward to. ; )

Aren't they gorgeous?!

Megan and Dean's Slideshow!

I'm so excited to have this ready for you. I love this slideshow! I hope you all do too. : ) Here are a few more of those amazing images.

Megan and Dean have become such a precious couple to me. Because we worked together on their Engagement Session and shared many, many phones calls to work out the details of their day, we've really gotten to know one each other. Another cool thing Dean did was have a billboard made (yes, one of those big 'ole billboards) with Megan's picture on it and included a sweet message. It was fun coming working with Dean secretly (because it was a surprise to Megan) and coming up with the perfect picture for the billoard. They are such a sweet couple and I do hope to keep in touch with them over the years to come. I hope Dean doesn't mind me sharing this email he recently sent.

Samantha and Clark,

Thank y'all for doing a wonderful job at our wedding. I never expected to a photographer to go out of their way to make sure things turned out great. My hat is off to the both of you. In fact many of the wedding party was bragging about how great the photographers were. Again thank you for everything. Y'all definitely have my reccomendations to anyone. Thank you also for making the engagement pictures fun also. I competely enjoyed working with the both of you and I wish the best of luck to you both give us a call some time and we will go out to eat. I hope that you son is on a quick road to recovery, I know it was hard leaving him for the day but we do greatly appreciate it.

Again THANKS a million,

Dean Courtney

The Billboard
Don't you just love that! What an awesome idea that was!

Joseph Part 3 of 3

This is the final 'Part' of the "Joseph Series" (officially anyway). I'll continue to keep you posted, but this is the final post about his 2 week hospitalization. We go to Birmingham next week for (hopefully) the final surgery to have his AT reconstructed. He's doing great though (except for the typical stomach bug that's hit us all), so I hope this surgery will also do him well. We're all anxious to get this done, so he can really start his recovery process. Thanks so much for your prayers and sweet emails. I've received several emails from different people sending their prayers and kind words and I soooo appreciate it. This is another reason I love blogging--I get to know so many of you along with my brides (and grooms-thanks! Dean) through this blog.
Thanks again ya'll!

Going home day! I knew he felt better when he put that cap on!
This is the brace he's been wearing now for the last couple of weeks. His foot is now actually extended about 45 degrees to a toe point. I told him he looks like a ballerina. : )

So many friends and family sent him goodies!

Megan and Dean

Just a sneak peak at a couple of pictures from Megan and Dean's fabulous wedding. I won't have their slideshow up until next week, but I just couldn't wait to show you a few now! I'll post more later and also tell you abit more about this sweet couple then, too. : )

If you remember, I also posted their engagement session a few weeks ago. You can see those pictures here. They also received the new Guest Signature Album with that session. Their wedding guests signed the pages of this album, rather than using the traditional (and typical) lined-paged book. I love it!
You can check out that album here!

Joseph Part 2

Joseph is doing well at home. He's completed his IV antibiotics and is getting around on his crutches pretty well. He had his first hospital follow up visit last Friday and everything looks great.

In Pre-Op/Surgery #2. I think he looks pretty cute here! : ) Dad said I didn't have any sense at all when I pulled my camera out of my purse. But the way I see it--there's always room for a little fun! ; )We took "vacations" for a little fresh air.
In Pre-Op/Surgery #3. Shelby was there for every surgery.
How about a little CSI while in Pre-Op to pass the time away?!

Mary Allison and Andy

What a fun couple these guys were! They were willing to try fun stuff and were so relaxed about everything. Mary Allison really had it all so organized and together. They really made my job easy! Hope you enjoy the slideshow!

Catching Up

I just wanted to keep you up to date on what's on my schedule. Needless to say I'm a bit behind on editing, but the good news is I'm slowly but surely catching up. So! This is what's coming up on the blog over the next few days:
*Mary Allison and Andy's wedding slideshow
*Part 2 of the Joseph Series
*A new Storybook Album demo (I love this album!)
*Megan and Dean's Guest Signature Album (okay...I love this album, too!)
Thanks for sticking with me! : )

Joseph Part 1

Yea! We're home! Joseph was hospitalized for 12 days with a leg infection after tearing his Achilles Tendon back on Friday 3/16. He had a total of 4 surgeries while there. Because his leg was so terribly infected, the surgeries were strictly to "clean out the infection" (so to speak). He'll have at least 1 more surgery to reconstruct the tendon--hopefully that will come within the next couple of weeks (or sooner). He's doing so much better now and is home on IV Antibiotics and crutches--no weight bearing for a while. So now he's playing play station and enjoying the royal treatment. : ) He will have a teacher from his school also start tutoring him tomorrow as we're unsure when he'll be able to return. (This is actually a time where he would like to go to school!) I do have a few pictures to share, so I'll be posting them in a series of posts. Continue to keep him in your prayers!
